    Why not mortise and tenon?

    • Good question. No doubt mortise and tennon joints would be stronger. In this case the table will be built in my shop and moved to my homes basement shop. With 4×4 Douglas fir legs, 2 by Douglas fir aprons and stretchers, and a high pressure laminated particle board top it will be heavy. So I compromised. The side leg assemblies will be glued mortise and tennon joints and they will be bolted to the long aprons and stretcher. Along with a removable top this should make moving easy.

      Thank you for your comment.
