New Chisel Handles

I just finished a set of chisel handles for a customer. He bought new Lie-Nielsen bench chisels and wanted cocobolo handles made for them. The LN chisels are very high quality tools, but that is what you would expect from this company. The polish is fine and the arises are crisp and sharp. Unlike the Stanley chisels these are patterned after all of the sockets are the same size. This, no doubt, saves on manufacturing costs, but the sockets are a bit too large for the smaller sized chisels and a bit puny for the larger sizes (3/4″ and up). They look great with the new cocobolo handles. Hope the customer agrees.

As always, thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment.

FYI – the new Stanley chisels all have the same size sockets and I agree with your assessment.
