This stuff is great for de – greasing parts. It will even remove paint. It is comparable to the purple cleaners, but much cheaper. I get at Dollar Tree for $1 per quart. Be careful using it because like all these modern cleaners it contains sodium hydroxide commonly known as lye. It will burn your skin.

Good to know about the lye thing !! I did not realize that.
That is the active ingredient in the modern degreasers. You can buy it in powder form and mix it yourself, but at this cheap price I don’t want to bother.
My sister used to run a honeywagon company. That’s the stuff they used for cleaning their equipment after emptying restaurant grease traps and outhouses. They never found anything more effective, and the price was (and is) great.
